Math Lab Rules and Regulations

The tutoring lab has been formulated to help you become independent and active learners and to achieve academic success.  It has been designed to assist you in several ways:

  1. with several computer software and Internet access programs.
  2. with practice problem worksheets, and
  3. with traditional small group instruction

LAB HOURS

COMBINATION CLASS STUDENTS ONLY:
As you are already aware, participation in the Math Lab constitutes 30% of your grade.  You are required to utilize the lab for a minimum of 2.5 hours per week, until you have successfully taken the Basic Matematics final exam.  Master attendance sheets will be given to your instructor weekly.

ALL REMEDIAL STUDENTS:
There will be a sign in/out sheet at the front desk.  In addition, there will also be one in your personal folder, this monitoring the topics you cover as well as the software utilized and tutoring time spent for that particular day.  It is your responsibility and very important that you remember to sign in, as well as out, to ensure that you receive proper credit.

Please be aware that the MATH LAB is not a substitute for a missed class.  Please also help us operate at maximum efficiency by observing the following procedures.

  1. NO open food or dring containers in the lab.
  2. NO children in the lab.
  3. When taking a break or leaving the lab, you MUST EXIT your program.
  4. Cell phones and pagers must be turned off in the computer lab.
  5. The telephone is for lab personnel only.
  6. No personal software allowed on the compuers.  Only lab approved software and/or programs should be used.
  7. No personal headphones/audio allowed.
