Excel 97

Selecting Non-adjacent Cells

Excel lets you select more than one worksheet area at a time.  For example, if you’re formatting non-adjacent cells for bolding and italicizing text, one group could be a rectangular shape.  Another could be a worksheet row or column in a different sheet area.

 ·        Select the first worksheet area by holding down your left mouse button and highlighting the desired area.

 ·        Hold down the Ctrl key, and select the second area. The first area will remain highlighted or selected.

 ·        You can also select columns and intersecting rows in the same way if required.

 ·        Continue bolding, centering, underlining, and italicizing as desired
