Adding Bookmarks in Netscape

Bookmarks are used to permanently mark a frequently used location or site on the Internet.

Bookmarks can also save you the tedious task of retyping a complicated address. Bookmarks stay in your bookmark list until you delete them.

If you like to check CNN every morning during your coffee break, you can bookmark the site so that you do not need to retype the site address.

To do this

  1. Go to the page you want to bookmark
  2. Left click on the "Bookmarks" button to display the Bookmarks window
  3. From the Bookmarks menu, left click on "Add Bookmark"
The page is now added to your list of bookmarks. To activate a specific bookmark, left click on the "Bookmarks" button and left click on the bookmarked site. The pre-selected site will be loaded.

Deleting Bookmarks

To delete a bookmark follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Netscape Communicator program.
  2. Click on the Bookmarks button on the personal toolbar. Your list of preset bookmarks will display as in the screen sample below.

Click on the Edit Bookmarks menu option. The Bookmarks.htm window will display.

From the Bookmarks window, click on the desired bookmark such as ZD Education – "Technology & Education for a connected world."
Press Delete on your keyboard to delete the selected bookmark.
