Windows 95

Multi-Tasking

Did you know that Windows 95 allows you to have more than one program open at a time?  Simply open the first program then open the 2nd, 3rd etc. When you have more than one program open, e.g., Word, Excel, Netscape, and you’d like to switch between these programs, follow the steps below:

1.                  Press and hold the Alt key down on your keyboard while tapping the Tab key.

A rectangular box will display picture icons representing each of your open programs.

In addition, a blue square will surround another active application.

2.                  Tap the Tab key to move the blue square to another application.

Continue tapping the tab key to cycle through the applications.

3.                  When you release the Alt key, the application highlighted displays full screen and becomes the active one.

You can switch between programs at any time.
