Formatting Text

Want to change the look of your text within Microsoft Word? There are many changes you can make to text, we will go over a few of the most common.

  • First, always remember that you must select the text that you would like to change. 
  • Go to the Formatting toolbar at the top of your screen.
  • To change the way text looks (font), click on the down arrow next to the current style and choose one of the many font options (i.e. Times Roman, Arial, Coronet..)
  • To change the size of the text, use the drop down menu next to the current size. Remember the larger the number the larger the print.
  • To make text bold, left click your mouse on the B button.
  • To Italicize text, left click your mouse on the I button.
  • To Underline text, left click your mouse on the U button.
