Page Numbering Here’s another tip for Word 97 users. If you want to number the pages of a document without adding headers and footers to your document, you can. Here’s how:
You will now see the following formatting dialog box:
The default is set so that a number appears on the first page. If
you want to remove the number from the first page, left click in the
box to remove the check mark. The document will be numbered starting
with page two on the second page.
