Using the Right Mouse Button to Access Shortcut Menus

 Did you know?...

That the right mouse button is the quick and easy way to access the shortcut menu in all  Microsoft programs.

  • Select text such as a phrase in Word documents or a group of worksheet cells in Excel workbooks.
  • Click the right mouse button.  The Shortcut menu will display with such options as ‘Cut’ and ‘Paste’ to move text, ‘Copy’ and ‘Paste’ to copy or duplicate text, and ‘Format’ to change Font styles and size.

The shortcut menu options will change depending on the program and item (s) selected.

  • Select the appropriate menu option with the left mouse button.  Continue with the feature and the corresponding dialog boxes.
  • Click anywhere in your document to deselect the Word text or Excel worksheet cell (s).
  • Save your updated documents and workbooks.
