Joint Admission Programs

One MCC goal is to prepare you for transfer to four-year institutions. More than half of our graduates transfer to colleges and universities and continue their studies toward bachelor's degrees and beyond. If you intend to transfer, or are even just considering the idea, our transfer counselors will help you with the entire process.

To make it easier, MCC has developed transfer agreements with more than 40 colleges and universities. If transfer is your goal, make an appointment with a counselor in the Office of Counseling and Career Services to design your individual program.

Rutgers University

Middlesex County College and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey have enjoyed a long and successful partnership in educating students.  Rutgers University receives more transfer students from MCC than any other school. Become part of the Rutgers Direct Articulation Partnership. You can complete your freshman and sophomore years, earning transfer credits as well as an Associate's degree in specific programs. Plan wisely and you can expect to have your credits transfer and begin at the university as a junior, just two years away from the Bachelor's Degree.

"I am so pleased that Rutgers has partnered with New Jersey's community colleges to create the Dual Degree Program for promising first-year applicants. Middlesex County College students are well prepared to begin their studies at Rutgers and I congratulate them and Middlesex County College's faculty and administrators for making this innovative program a success."
Richard L. McCormick, President, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey

New Jersey Institute of Technology

MCC students in many programs can automatically transfer to the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) under our Joint Admissions program. After successfully completing the requirements for an associate degree and a recommendation from your academic dean, you can start your junior year at NJIT without further admissions review.

NJIT Joint Admissions Programs

“Transfer students from Middlesex County College (MCC) are important to New Jersey Institute of Technology. (NJIT). NJIT receives more transfer students from MCC than any other community college. In addition, MCC students succeed. They annually compose 15 percent of the graduating class at NJIT who were transferees. That’s a significant fact, because transferees receive annually almost half (44 percent) of all undergraduate degrees at NJIT.”
Robert A. Altenkirch, Ph.D., President of NJIT
