Automotive Technology Applicants

Automotive Technology Program Information

Thank you for your interest in the Automotive Technology program at Middlesex County College.  Unfortunately our program will not be offered again until fall 2010.  However, you may apply to the upcoming semester as an Open College Automotive Technology student.  Attending Middlesex County College as an Open College Automotive Technology student is a great way to ensure that you are fully eligible to apply to the program in fall 2010.  If you plan to apply as an Open College Automotive student, please follow the checklist below:

  1. APPLYING TO MIDDLESEX
    Submit your application to the Office of Admissions with a $25.00 non-refundable application fee.  Unfortunately, our program will not be offered again until fall 2010.  However, you may apply to the upcoming semester as an Open College Automotive Technology student.  Attending Middlesex County College as an Open College Automotive student is a great way to ensure that you are fully eligible to apply to the program in fall 2010.  
  2. REQUEST OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS or GED SCORES
    Request that your high school send an official copy of your transcript to the Admissions Office.  If you received a GED, please provide an original copy of your GED results to the Admissions Office. 
  3. REQUEST OFFICIAL PRIOR COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS
    Request that your prior college/colleges send an official copy of your transcript to the Admissions Office. 
  4. SCHEDULE THE ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE TEST (ESL) or RECEIVE AN EXEMPTION
    Applicants for whom English is not your best language are required to take the English as a Second Language (ESL) exam first and complete any language courses indicated by the exam.  The MCC Testing Center offers the exam.  We recommend you schedule the test early as ESL seats are limited.  Please click here for testing days and times.
  5. SCHEDULE THE COLLEGE PLACEMENT TEST (CPT) or RECEIVE AN EXEMPTION
    Take the College Placement Test or receive an exemption.   If you have taken the test at another New Jersey College, please have the scores sent to the Middlesex County College Testing Center.  If you have SAT scores that are less than five years old, please submit them to the Admissions Office for possible exemption(s).   All applicants with a college degree from a US institution are exempt from the test.  Applicants who attended college outside the US need to have their transcripts evaluated by an accredited third party evaluator such as AACRAO or WES.  If you have the evaluated equivalent of a US Bachelor’s degree you will be exempted from the College Placement Test.  Please click for testing times and days
  6. APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID, IF NEEDED
    Students who apply for financial aid need to declare an academic major.  U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible to apply for financial aid by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the Federal Student Aid Program in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and our College Financial Aid Data Form to our Financial Aid Office that is located in South I.  Questions?   Call (732) 906-2520.
  7. PAY YOUR BILL
    Your bill must be paid by the due date indicated on the bottom of the schedule you receive at registration.  Questions?   Call (732) 906-2572.
  8. PURCHASE YOUR BOOKS
    Take your schedule to our bookstore or visit their web site at www.bluecoltbookstore.com to select your books.  Questions?   Call (732) 906-2539.
