Math Placement Information

Am I exempt from MAT 010?

If your Math Comp score is at least 57 and your Algebra score is at least 40, you may enroll directly in MAT 013 (Algebra I) in the older math grid (prior to 3/10/08).

Do I need to take MAT 014 (ALGEBRA II) or may I take a credit course?
If, under the heading of Required Developmental Courses, you see (None) for Algebra, then you will fit into one of the following categories:

IF your curriculum DOES NOT require MAT 014 as a prerequisite for credit courses*, in conjunction with advisement, you may enroll in one of the following credit courses:

          MAT 101 (Freshman Mathematics I)
MAT 104 (Mathematics for the Elementary School)
          MAT 107 (Mathematics I)
          BUS 115 (Mathematics of Finance)

IF your curriculum requires MAT 014 as a prerequisite for credit courses* and if your Algebra placement score was 68-89 and your CLM score was less than 40, you must take MAT 014 in the older math grid (prior to 3/10/08).   .

IF you do not fit into either of the above categories, then you may take a credit course. Using your placement scores in conjunction with advisement, use the following table to serve as a guide for your first credit math course:
