Robert Oras, a retired law enforcement professional, was recently named to the Board of Trustees of Middlesex County College. He was appointed by the Governor’s Office.
Mr. Oras comes to the College with 40 years of experience in law enforcement in Jersey City. He was a police officer, detective, sergeant, and training bureau commander. Most recently, he was the director of the Jersey City Police Academy, supervising training for police officers in the state. He is a graduate of New Jersey City University.
“I hope to be able to contribute to the success of Middlesex County College and its students,” Mr. Oras said. “It’ll be interesting to see how a college operates behind the scenes and to get a feel for the direction of higher education in the state.”
