Use and Abuse of Drugs and Alcohol

POLICY NO. 3.10.0

Middlesex County College declares that it will make every effort to provide its employees with an environment that is free of the problems associated with the use and abuse of alcohol and controlled substances.  The abuse of such substances is inconsistent with the behavior expected of employees and subjects our students, other employees, and the College to unacceptable risks that would undermine the College’s ability to operate effectively and efficiently.  Working while under the influence of alcohol or drugs can seriously affect job performance, as well as jeopardize the safety of that employee and other employees.  Noncompliance with this policy will result in disciplinary action.

Adopted: June 16, 1990
