How to work with Career Services for Job Search Assistance

The Middlesex County College Job Listings are intended for MCC students and graduates. Jobs are posted on our site by the employers, and students apply for the posted positions by contacting Career Services. Please read the following information:

If you are currently an MCC student, verify that you have at least a 2.0 GPA. If this is your first semester at MCC, you must wait until after midterms and bring along your midterm grades indicating that you have the equivalent of a 2.0 when you meet with Career Services.

For jobs posted on the MCC Job site:

  1. You must have a resume on file with Career Services.
  2. After your resume is completed, review the job postings on our website by clicking on Search Job Listings in the blue box on the right side of the page.
  3. If you find a posting on the MCC job site that is of interest and you meet all stated qualifications including experience, education and can work the stated hours, send the 4 digit job # via email to cquigley@middlesexcc.edu or bgross@middlesexcc.edu. Please include a short message in the email explaining that you would like to apply for the listed position(s) - no more than 5 job #s at a time please!  YOU MUST SEND THE EMAIL USING YOUR MCC EMAIL ADDRESS and include your MCC student ID. NO EXCEPTIONS! This is required so that we can verify your status as an MCC student.
  4. Depending on the time of year/semester, it may take several days or sometimes even longer before we can handle your emailed request. You are always welcome to make an appointment to meet with Career Services, and we will process your request during your appointment.
  5. Most employers will contact you directly if they are interested in offering you the opportunity to interview. Very few alert Career Services about who they interview or hire, but that information is important to us for many reasons. Please let us know if you are called for an interview.

For jobs opportunities NOT on the MCC job posting site:

  1. You apply for yourself by carefully following all stated instructions for applying. Of course, Career Services will still help you prepare your resume if you'd like.

Please also note:

Also, please note that Career Services can help you prepare for your interview with our great new interactive system InterviewStream. That's right, practice your interviews in private by recording yourself via webcam on the InterviewStream station in Edison Hall room 100. Call 732-906-2595 to reserve your InterviewStream session.
