CATs in the Classroom: Assessing Student Learning
Have you ever been surprised by poor results on the first test of the semester, when you thought students understood the material? If you don’t want to wait to find out what your students don’t know, then this workshop is for you. You will leave the workshop with CATs (class assessment techniques) you can use all semester to assess student learning, quickly and easily. One CAT in particular helps you assess students’ prior knowledge in your course content, to help you fine-tune what you teach throughout the semester. CATs can be used in any class, in any discipline. When: Thursday, January 15, 200910:00 to 11:00 a.m.Where: CELT meeting room, Center IFacilitator: Christine Wathen, Business Administration and Management Department
