Administrative Director

Dr. Fannie Gordon, Ed.D.
Director of EOF
Adjunct Professor
Psychology

Director of EOF, tenured Professor and adjunct professor of psychology, Dr. Gordon received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in History and English from the University of Maryland and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Connecticut. While working as a counselor in the New Brunswick schools and University College of Rutgers University and family counseling centers throughout the state, Dr. Gordon earned an Education Specialist degree in marriage and family counseling from Seton Hall University. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Dr. Gordon received a Doctor of Education degree in counseling psychology from Rutgers University in 1998. As a director of the EOF Program, Dr. Gordon influences the education and career of more that 500 students each year, many of whom have become outstanding students, excelling in four-year colleges and beyond.

Dr. Victor Vega, Ph.D.

African American Studies and Counseling and Career Services

Tenured Counseling Associate Professor and adjunct professor of African American Studies, Dr. Vega received a Ph.D. and Masters  graduate degrees from Temple University, Masters degree Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University. Professor Vega uses theories and experiences in Human Development and Africana/Latino studies to advance practical, technical and emancipatory knowledge and development. He applies his Spanish, English and Medu Netjer tri-lingual acumen as intellectual and cultural tools in the study, teaching and development of different cultures.


Dr. Trudi Harris-Johnson, Ed.D.

Tenured Counseling Assistant Professor. Dr. Harris-Johnson received an Ed.D Degree from Nova Southeastern University, Masters of Education degree from the College of New Jersey, a Bachelors of Science from Bowie State University, and a Certification from Kean University. Professor Harris-Johnson is concerned with the empowerment of students which comes through: (1) belief in one’s self and one’s ability to transform dreams into reality; (2) the recognition of goals and the identification of the resources and the behaviors required to attain one’s goal; (3) proper planning for the timely achievement of tasks required to attain one’s goal; (4) taking decisive action based upon all of the information that one is presented with.

Receptionist services, Administrative assistance

EOF Assistant, Ms. Olivia Maxwell achieved certification in business management and cosmetology from the Morris County Vocational Technical school in 1996. Ms. Maxwell is at the front desk of the office  assisting with program questions, telephone calls and reception services. She helps students with office policies, counseling appointments and maintains communication between students, the counseling faculty and the office. Olivia is presently pursuing an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts.


Ms. Evarista Plasencia
EOF Assistant 
Financial Aid documentation services, Bilingual (Spanish) assistance

EOF Financial Aid Assistant, Ms. Evarista Plasencia obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from York College, the City University of New York in 1997. Ms. Plasencia has worked at the EOF Office since 2001. She provides information concerning student records, EOF eligibility and admissions clearance. As a first generation Domincana, she uses her command of the Spanish language to assist Hispanic students with English language financial aid concerns. Evarista’s greatest satisfaction derives from knowing her job helps students with their enrollment in and graduation from college.
