Campus Cruiser, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, is a Web-based
campus community software program. It
provides an email system, the ability to have a college-wide calendar,
post college news and events and permits faculty and students to easily
communicate with each other. Faculty
members have the ability to communicate to an entire class.
Access to Campus Cruiser is secure in that it is a gateway to Web
Advisor that allows faculty to access the class roster and enter grades.
Once you have logged in to Campus
Cruiser you will have be able to become familiar with all of its
tools by using the quick reference guide and tutorials. The quick
reference guide for both faculty and students can be found in the News
section which can be accessed from a tab on the left part of the screen
as soon as the Campus Cruiser site opens.
There is also a tab on the left for tutorials and FAQ.
The
contact person on campus for Campus Cruiser is Brian
Richards, Ext # 2618.
Brian Richards is available to give you individual assistance on
making the best use of Campus Cruiser. Once you have a Campus Cruiser
login and password, you will also have a Campus Cruiser email address.
To find out more about campus email accounts, look under the
email heading in this part of the manual.
Access
to Campus Cruiser gives you access to Web Advisor, a
product that allows you to access your class rosters and enter grades
throughout the semester. While
the Campus Cruiser tools are very useful, it is the access to Web
Advisor which is crucial for accessing rosters and entering grades.
How
to Get a Campus Cruiser Login ID and Password that give access to Campus
Cruise and Web Advisor
As
soon as you have a Human Resources record and have been attached to a
class for the first time, you will automatically be issued a Campus
Cruiser login and password. A
letter telling you what your login and password are will be sent
directly to the department for which you are teaching.
The letter will be put in your mailbox. (for the Mathematics
Department, the mailboxes are in Center II). If you are teaching
off-campus, the letter will be sent to you at your home address.
Your Campus Cruiser ID can be found on the top of the paper roster
distributed the first day of class.
NOTE:
Sometimes, the paper work that attaches you to the
class
you are teaching takes a while to get to the
correct place. In that case,
the semester might begin
without you having a Campus Cruiser login and
password. If this is the
case, you will want to
mention this to the Department Chair (Dr. Maria
DeLucia for the Mathematics Department) or to the
secretaries in the department (Julie Cosentino or
Nancy
Fazekas for the Mathematics Department).
