Where is the library located and what are the hours?

The library and its extensive collection and resources are available to faculty and students.  The library is a white building located in the middle of the campus, and connected to the Instructional Resource Center (IR) and the Johnson Learning Center (JL).  Its hours during the semester except for holidays are Monday-Thursday, 7:45AM – 10:00PM Fridays, 7:45Am – 5:00PM, Saturdays, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM and Sundays,12:00PM-5:00PM.

Can my students and I get help locating the materials needed?

Reference Librarians make themselves available to both faculty and students, assisting them with locating materials in the MCC library and on online databases.  In addition, materials can be obtained through Interlibrary Loan.  The library is also linked with other libraries through an online catalog (MIDAS).

Do adjunct faculty members have borrowing privileges?

Faculty may borrow an unlimited number of books for a loan period of 15 weeks.

Is there a way my class can get library instruction as a group during class time?

If you are interested in bringing your class to the library as a group to get instruction in a specialized discipline, requests should be made at least one week in advance.  A time should be scheduled with the reference librarian by calling Ext 2461 or by emailing at eLibrary2001@yahoo.com.

If you make an appointment by email list your name. course name and number, phone number at which you can be reached, the date and time requested for instruction , the number of students, the purpose of instruction and a list of sources and topics for discussion, if desired.
