The Mathematics Department follows the College’s procedures for grading, including early warning grades, midterm grades, final grades, and change of grades.

However, although a grade of Incomplete (I) is listed as an one of the options in the College’s grading system, the Mathematics Department does not give the ‘I’ grade except in extenuating circumstances.  The ‘policy’ is to give the student an ‘F’, apprise them of what they need to do to complete the course, and then change the grade using an Add-Drop form. (Change of Grade is discussed in the College section of the manual).

Recently, the Chairperson has asked Mathematics faculty members to take one more step when submitting their grades.  The steps are as follows:

  • After the grades have been entered into Campus Cruiser/WebAdvisor, hit the "print screen" key

  • The print dialog box comes up.  Hit "OK" (roster should print)

  • Now open MS Word

  • In Word, open a blank document and hit the "paste" icon or "edit, paste"

  • Save as 05_Sp_MAT_CourseCode_Section

  • Go back to Campus Cruiser/WebAdvisor and continue with the next roster and repeat the process, saving a copy of each rost

After you have completed the grading process in Campus Cruiser/WebAdvisor and saved all the rosters in Word, email them to the Chairperson as attachments.  For security reasons, it is very important for you to email using the Campus Cruiser email to mariad3096@portal.middlesexcc.edu.

Because students have one year to appeal a grade, faculty members should keep records of grades for one year after the semetser.
