Where can I find the syllabus for the course I am teaching?

There is a department syllabus available for every course that is taught in the Mathematics Department.  These are written by the course coordinators and their respective committees.  These are kept in Center 2 in the drawer near Julie’s desk.  You can ask Julie, Nancy or Dr. DeLucia for a syllabus.

What is included in a course outline?

All instructors are expected to distribute course outlines on the first day of class.  The course outline should include the name of the course, the instructor’s name, the required text and calculator (if appropriate), information on how students can contact the instructor, the syllabus (day-to-day topics covered and testing days), course requirements and grading criteria and  expectations about academic integrity, homework, attendance and classroom etiquette (i.e., cell phone use).  Instructors may add any other information they feel is pertinent to their class. Many faculty members have their own web sites and post their outlines and syllabi online.
