The Campaign For Middlesex County College Foundation
Dear Friends,
The Community Investment Campaign was the most comprehensive outreach ever undertaken by the Foundation. It proved to be an amazing success. More students than ever before in our 40 year history will be able to achieve at Middlesex because of the outstanding response from the community to the Campaign!
The total raised to benefit MCC students and programs topped $3.5 million. Each contribution to the endeavor seemed to inspire another. We are grateful to the close friends and members of the Board of Directors who generously made commitments during the quiet phase of the Campaign. They created the base on which this unprecedented success was built.
We are grateful to our Honorary Chairs, Paige L’Hommedieu and Dr. Rose Channing Danzis, for their inspiring commitment to MCC students and reassuring oversight of the Campaign’s progress. Thanks to our Cabinet and Committee members, who have proven themselves outstanding advocates for quality education in our County.
Our greatest appreciation to the 325 contributors whose generosity made sure that the campaign lived up to its name! This Campaign was truly a community effort with support coming from all areas, including individual supporters, corporations and foundations, College alumni, and community groups. Approximately 38 percent of you are new Foundation supporters - welcome! - and thank you for reinforcing how much the community values our students and the quality education they receive at Middlesex County College.
We have always seen this campaign as an opportunity to transform the College and the lives of our students forever. On behalf of the many generation’s of students who will benefit from the campaign’s success, we offer our greatest gratitude to all of the caring community members whose names are listed in this report. Thank you!

The Campaign For Middlesex County College Foundation
Middlesex County College Foundation was chartered in 1966 to provide educational opportunities for qualified students and those requiring financial assistance to attend Middlesex County College. This mission remains unchanged today. By consistently growing financial aid and scholarships and raising funds for select College programs, Middlesex County College Foundation helps students, faculty and the Middlesex County community realize academic and career dreams.
Student Aid & Scholarships
Since its founding, the Foundation has provided more than $7 million dollars in private financial aid, scholarships and grants to more than 10,500 students. In fact, approximately 25 percent of all Middlesex County College alumni have directly benefited from financial aid or scholarships assistance from Middlesex County College Foundation. To ensure that residents of our communities continue to have access to quality, affordable, post-secondary education, Middlesex County College Foundation is conducting a $3 million Community Investment Campaign.
Though the Foundation distributed 590 scholarship awards to Middlesex County College students during the past academic year, it is hoped that within five years, this number exceeds 1,000. To do so, a Community Investment Campaign goal of $2.5 million has been established for Student Aid & Scholarships.
Faculty Support
The College’s Center for the Enrichment of Learning and Teaching (CELT) exists to ensure that faculty are able to stay on the cutting edge of developments in their fields by taking advantage of the accumulated talent of their peers. The Community Investment Campaign seeks to raise $150,000 to benefit the faculty.
Library
The Middlesex County College Library, physically located on the Edison Campus and electronically linked to almost every public library in the County, is a valuable community resource. Always the heart of an educational institution, libraries must keep current with the wealth of information resources available. Currently, the College’s library is in need of new furnishings, collection upgrades, and on-line database access. The Community Investment Campaign seeks to raise $150,000 for library enhancements.
Urban Centers
Middlesex County College has two urban campuses; Perth Amboy Center and New Brunswick Center serve a critical role in ensuring the a quality education is accessible to each city’s working population. Each Center seeks to further encourage area students. The Community Investment Campaign seeks to raise $150,000 for the College’s Urban Centers.
Minority Student Affairs
A number of special programs and services are designed especially to improve the retention and success of minority students on campus. Mentoring, tutoring, and intensive academic and personal assistance to empower minority students to clarify their goals, complete their field of study, and find satisfying careers. The Community Investment Campaign seeks to raise $50,000 to support the College’s Minority Student Affairs initiatives.
