Wireless

Wireless access is available to Currently Enrolled Students, MCC Faculty/Staff, and Guests in several places on campus - in the library/Johnson Learning Center, College Center, Performing Arts Center.

Currently Enrolled Students – Students have access to a secure and encrypted network that will provide general access to the Internet. Because the wireless connection is secure and encrypted, students will have to configure their notebooks and other devices before they attach to the network. They will find these instructions on CampusCruiser (Around Campus – MCC Wireless Info). Students can find their login and password within CampusCruiser on the WebAdvisor tab by selecting "WIRELESS ID AND PASSWORD" from within the Services Menu.
Guests – Authorized “Guests” to the college, for ease of use and configuration, have access to an un-secured, un-encrypted network. Student Activities, located in College Center rm. 213, receives a daily password and ID to provide to authorized Guests.
MCC Faculty and Staff (using personal notebooks and devices) – MCC faculty and staff have access to a secure and encrypted network using their personally owned notebooks. Because the wireless connection is secure and encrypted, Faculty and staff will have to configure their notebooks and other devices before they attach to the network. This network does not connect to the Colleges internal network (Colleague or Exchange access), but rather provides general access to the Internet. Staff and Faculty will use the same login and password for wireless access as they do for the MCC Administrative Network. This is the password used to log on to your office PC or to retrieve your email thru WebOutlook. It is not your Campus Cruiser login and password
Notebook’s provided by Media Services for use on the College wireless network will be configured to have general Internet access as “Guests.” No access to Colleague or your network files.
Notebook’s that come from the IT Mobile Notebook Cart will have College network (includes Colleague) and general Internet access, but only WebOutlook for College email. Log in instructions are provided with the cart.
College Owned and Already Networked Authorized Notebooks – A limited number of “college owned and configured notebooks” will have campus wireless access that provides the same level of access as does your office connected notebook. These notebooks will first have to be configured by IT staff to connect to the wireless network. Please call the Help Desk to make arrangements.
Whether you use Windows Vista, Windows 7, XP or a MAC operating system,  instructions for use is available from the Reference Desk in the library. or online.  If you are still having problems connecting, please ask at the Reference Desk for help.
