Reporting a Crime

If you are the victim or witness to a crime, or have knowledge of a crime that has been committed, it is important to report the crime to the college police immediately.  Even if the victim is reluctant to pursue criminal charges, reporting is still important for the following reasons:

    • To get assistance for victims and witnesses.
    • To track crime trends in order to improve public safety.
    • To alert the community about potential dangers.
    • To preserve evidence if later a decision is made to prosecute.
    • To inform victims and witnesses of other options that may be available to them including restraining orders, follow-up by the college’s disciplinary system and assistance provided for safety precautions.

Crimes committed on the property of Middlesex County College should be reported to the Middlesex County College Police Department.  Campus property includes buildings, land, vehicles, parking lots and roadways owned, used or occupied by the college.

You may report a crime several ways:

In an emergency situation, call 911 or extension 2500 when using a campus phone. If using a cell phone or calling from off campus dial (732) 906-2500.

The MCC Police Department can also be contacted via the college's Emergency Call Boxes which are located in each of the main classroom buildings as well as outside in front of West Hall, Johnson Learning Center and in parking lots 4, 5, 6 and 6A.  These are speaker-style phones that connect directly with the college police department.

For non-emergencies, the fastest and most convenient way to report a crime is to call extension 3500 when using a campus phone or (732) 548-6000 Ext. 3500 when calling from off campus or a cell phone.

If you prefer, the Internet can be used by sending an email message to Anonymous_Tips@middlesexcc.edu or click here to complete the reporting form.

Please provide as much information as you can about the incident so that the investigating officer will be able to address the report.

We thank you for your cooperation and assistance as we all work together to keep Middlesex County College a happy and safe environment for all.
