Using CampusCruiser and WebAdvisor to your Advantage

Using CampusCruiser and WebAdvisor to Your Advantage

A STUDENT’S PERSPECTIVE OF CAMPUSCRUISER AND WEBADVISOR

When you log in to CampusCruiser, the default is to the My Cruiser tab. This tab will indicate a list of your classes (but not with days and times), and any e-mails or campus announcements that need to be read. The instructor of a class may also have a customized welcome and specific announcements for a class listed directly under the title your course or courses. The Calendar component of My Cruiser also permits you to create a calendar of due dates for all courses in a semester.

The Campus Life tab allows you to view a list of all clubs on campus. By clicking on the link of a club, you can learn about the goals of that club and the name of its moderator.

You can view important information about your classes through the Academics tab.

To view class information, click on the Academics Tab after logging on to CampusCruiser.
Click on Classes.
Choose the appropriate semester in the drop down box.
Click on the specific class for which you want information. This will default to the Welcome to the class which is usually the catalog course information, the name of the instructor and the instructor’s portal e-mail address.
The Announcements link will provide announcements created by the instructor of the class for that particular class.

Within the Academics Tab, there is the Member Area which contains the following links:

The Message Board is different from Announcements in that the professor may have posted topics for discussion in asynchronous time.
Email members allows students to e-mail each other about class assignments or projects
The Chat Room allows for a synchronous discussion among students and/or instructor.
Tasks is similar to the Calendar feature in that a student can list tasks that need to be completed.
Shared Files allows a student to look at files provided by the instructor for perusal.
Bookmarks are Internet URLs that a professor finds particularly important.
Syllabus (if created by the instructor) permits a student to look at a file of the class syllabus or a syllabus created by the instructor through the use of CampusCruiser.

The WebAdvisor tab provides access to a great deal of important information.

You can view your class schedules through the WebAdvisor tab.

To view a class schedule, click on the WebAdvisor tab after logging on to CampusCruiser.
Click on Student Services.
Under Services, lick on My Class Schedule. This can also be used by the student after registering for classes through WebAdvisor.
Click on the appropriate semester in the Drop Down box and click Submit.

You can research your degree requirements through the WebAdvisor tab

To do this research, click on the WebAdvisor tab after logging on to CampusCruiser
Click on Student Services.
Under Services, click on Program Evaluation.
Check the box of the current major.
Use the Drop down box to find the current or proposed major and click Submit.

You can view your transcript through the WebAdvisor tab.

To view a class schedule, click on the WebAdvisor tab after logging on to CampusCruiser.
Click on Student Services.
Under Services, click on Transcript.
Find UG-Undergraduate in the drop down box and click Submit. CE-Corporate & Community Ed will provide a record of all courses taken with the Division of Corporate and Community Education.

You can view your mid-term and final grades through the WebAdvisor tab.

To view mid-term or final grades, click on the WebAdvisor tab after logging on to CampusCruiser.
Click on Student Services.
Under My Grades, click on Grades.
Put a check in the box next to the desired semester and click the gray Submit button.

You can view yourFinancial Aid information through the WebAdvisor tab.

To view Financial Aid information, click on the WebAdvisor tab after logging on to CampusCruiser.
Click on Student Services.
Under Financial Aid, click on Financial Aid Award Letter to see a duplicate of the Financial Aid Award Letter. Financial Aid by Term and Financial Aid by Year permit a student to view the amount of aid awarded by term or by year.

You can view the status of your financial obligations to the College through the WebAdvisor Tab.

To view this information, click on the WebAdvisor tab after logging on to CampusCruiser.
Click on Student Services.
Under Financial Profile, click on Account Summary by Term to get an overview of payments received and money owed.

You can make tuition payments through the WebAdvisor tab.

Click on the WebAdvisor tab after logging on to CampusCruiser.
Click on Student Services.
Under Financial Profile, click on Make a Payment and enter relevant information about the amount to be paid (only the full amount of a bill can be paid through WebAdvisor), the type of credit card, the credit card number, the expiration month/year and an e-mail address if the student wishes to receive an e-mail receipt. Click on Submit. A confirmation of the payment can be acquired by clicking on Account Summary by Term under Financial Profile.
