Placement in ENG 009 or ENG 010 and Possible Challenge
If you score lower than a 6 in the writing sample section of the Accuplacer Test, you are placed into ENG 009.
If you score a 6 or 7 in the writing sample section of the Accuplacer Test, you are placed into ENG 010.
If you score an 8 or higher in the writing sample section of the Accuplacer Test, you need no English developmental courses and can take ENG 121.
Only a score of 5 (to be placed out of ENG 009) with a minimum reading score of 61 or a 7 (to be placed out of ENG 010) with a minimum reading score of 84 may be challenged once using WritePlacer on the computer. Scores of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 cannot be challenged.
