SAT Scores and Placement in Math Classes--effective 3/10/08)

Students who have taken the SAT prior to March 10, 2008 and have never attended MCC will also follow this new math grid.

530 and higher		Exempt from Accuplacer Testing. Eligible for MAT 014 (may challenge); Eligible for MAT 101, 104, 107, and BUS 115
530-559 and the student wants Precalculus		MAT 014 (may challenge). Precalculus placement based upon Mathematics Department Diagnostic Test.
*560 or higher and the student wants Precalculus		Exempt from MAT 014.  Must take Diagnostic Test to be eligible for MAT 129A or 129. Eligible for MAT 116 and 123.
576-649		Eligible to register for MAT 129 if NCWS demonstrates High School prerequisite of Algebra II
650 and higher		Student may choose MAT 123, 129A, 129, 131 or 131A
*Students who fall back to MAT 014 based on the diagnostic test will be eligible for MAT 090/129A.
