Tech-Xploration, A Technology Adventure for Teen Girls
We are no longer accepting new applications for the 2009 season
Did you ever wonder how an amusement park ride works or who designs them? Have you ever considered the skill it takes to run them? Have you ever wondered about the physics behind Karate? How about what it would be like to go to college? Tech-Xploration is an opportunity to find the answers to all these questions and more. If you are a freshman girl who is interested in attending a summer camp at Middlesex County College, you can have a unique experience that includes all this and more.
Through Tech-Xploration A Technology Adventure for Teen Girls, young women just like you who are about to enter their sophomore year of high school can have the experience of their lives! Tech-Xploration gives high school students a bird's eye view of the college environment as they work on a hands-on project with a group of other girls just like them! Meet women who are working as successful engineers and learn what it would be like to help people through engineering. For the month of July, here's what you will experience with Tech-Xploration. You will:
- Design an engineering project with a group of girls in a computer lab
- Attend a state-of-the-art facility located on the Middlesex County College campus
- Make the project come to life with hands-on tools
- Display your projects at Liberty Science Center
- Be introduced to the power of learning Karate, or advancing your Karate skills if you are already a Karate student
- Experience the inner workings of Six Flags Great Adventure by taking behind the scenes tours and talking to real engineers
- Meet women who are working on amazing projects as professional engineers
- Play ball, swim, have fun!
Tech-Xploration does require an application process, however, your creativity and level interest in the program are more important than your grades. If this sounds like the way you would like to a month this summer, don't hesitate, apply today!
