Leslie Cherry ’14
What have you been up to since graduation?
I am currently living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma teaching middle school English. Immediately after graduating MCC, I transferred to Rutgers University, ultimately earning my B.A. in English in 2016. Currently, I am completing my M.Ed in Educational Leadership at Concordia University.
What is one of your greatest achievements since graduating from MCC?
MCC prepared me for greatness! Because of the academic support and knowledgeable professors, I was well prepared for the next steps.
What is your fondest memory of MCC?
I enjoyed Professor Wilson’s English 122 class. We had critical discourse taking place at every session.
What was your favorite place on campus, why?
I loved eating lunch outside near the theater, and hanging out in the pool!
Who was your favorite professor and why?
Professor Sally DelVecchio! Her Shakespeare course absolutely changed my perspective of deep thinking and critical Literary Theory.
If you could offer a current MCC student advice, what would it be?
Be amazing and take advantage of the unique educational experience MCC offers.
Why was attending MCC the right decision for you?
MCC paved the road to my success! Special thanks to the EOF program! Dr. Victor Vega inspired me to be great, and now just four years later I am pursuing my graduate degree.
