Coaching Staff
Head Coach: David Turco

Head Coach: David Turco

Dave Turco has been named the new Men’s Basketball coach at Middlesex County College for the 2018 – 19 season. Coach Turco will need to begin immediately on building a roster and coaching staff to help the Colts once again get back to the top of Region XIX

Coach Turco comes to Middlesex County College after tremendous success on the High School level. He has been a Head Basketball Coach for past 21 seasons in New Jersey. He has previously coached at Carteret HS, South Brunswick HS and most recently St Joseph HS (Metuchen).

During his HS Tenure he has compiled a 448-121 record. He is the only HS Coach in Middlesex County to ever lead his team to 10 consecutive finals. Coach Turco is 1 of the 10 Coaches that has led his Team to a NJ Tournament of Champions Title.

His Teams have won a 8 GMC Conference Championships, 15 GMC Division Titles, Central Jersey Group II State Championship, 3 Parochial A South Sectional Championships, 3 Non Public A State Championships, participated in 3 Tournament of Champions and won the Overall State TOC Title in 2014.

Coach Turco was inducted into the NJ Scholastic Coaches Hall Of Fame in March of 2011. He has coached numerous D1 basketball players (Currently playing Marques Townes, Breein Tyree, Tyus Battle and Alonzo Frink), professional players overseas (Quenton Decosey) and currently has 2 Players that are playing in the NBA (Karl Anthony Towns and Wade Baldwin IV)

What they are saying about Coach Dave Turco:

“Coach Turco is not only one of the best coaches I’ve ever had, but one of the best role models I ‘ve ever met. His hard work both on and off the court is second to none. I feel that MCC has hit the jackpot in acquiring him” Karl Anthony Towns (NBA 1st Overall Pick 2015 Draft, former player of Coach Turco)

“Aside from being one of the most prepared coaches I’ve ever known – Coach Turco’s greatest asset is the relationship he has with his players after they graduate and become men. There is not a player or parent that I have ever met that does not have great things to say about him and are thankful that their son had a chance to play for him” Gary Battle (Father of Tyus (Syracuse University) and Khalif Battle (Committed to Butler University)

“I have known Coach David Turco for seven years. My son had the pleasure and honor to be coached by Dave Turco his junior and senior years at Saint Joseph Metuchen high school from 2012 to 2014. I look back now and wish that Coach Turco would have coach my son for all fours in high school, he his my sons favorite coach of all time. Coach Turco preached academics to my son the two years he coached him, along with all the kids in his program. Coach Turco, coached numerous division 1 scholarship players all over the country and each young man was successful in the class and also on the court. Coach Turco knows talent and how to take these young men to the next level, if they listen and work hard . Coach Turco is someone I trust, he’s honest, knowledgeable, and more important he loves the young men he coaches as if each kid was his own son. I believe you hired the best coach in the State of New Jersey to lead, coach, and teach basketball and life lessons to each young man that enters your institution for higher learning and becoming winners on the court and in life. I am so happy that your Institution gave Coach Turco the opportunity to coach and lead young men to be successful in whatever they pursue in life.” Wade M Baldwin III (Father of Wade Baldwin IV – Vanderbilt University – #17 Pick in NBA 2016 Draft – Member of the Portland Trail Blazers)
