On 5/29/2020 at 4:07 am,  a fire alarm was activated at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore on the Edison campus due to a leaking hot water pipe in room 112.  The Fire Department arrived on scene and reset the alarm. #I-2020-010406 – Closed C.

An individual reported that she was contacted by what appeared to be an MCC email account regarding a job opening to purchase and ship medical supplies. The victim supplied banking information to the suspect and was subsequently scammed. I-2020-010325 – Open.

An individual reported that after being contacted by what appeared to be an MCC email account regarding a job opening to purchase and ship medical supplies, the victim and a family member supplied banking information to the suspect and were both subsequently scammed.  #I-2020-010321 – Open.

Police responded to Patrol Road to take a report of property damage due to a fallen tree. Upon arrival, there were several county workers actively removing a tree which had struck the fence located on Patrol Road off of Mill Road. #I-2020-007510 – Closed C.

An individual reported receiving an email to her MCC student account regarding a potential employment opportunity.  Initially, the victim provided her name, address and phone number to the subject but became suspicious when she received an email with a check and instructions on how to transfer money to a fraudulent company.  The victim was advised to block the phone number and monitor her account for any fraudulent activity. #I-2020-007809 – Closed C.

On 3/13/20, a staff member from the Library reported that sometime between 3/6 and 3/9 someone had made two large drawings in pen on the cloth cubicle inside the Library. A work order was placed to have the cubicle cleaned. #I-2020-006130 – Closed C.

An individual reported to police that after being contacted via email regarding an employment opportunity, the victim furnished the scammer with personal identifying information. A large check was deposited into the victim’s account and she immediately contacted her bank regarding a possible fraudulent deposit.  A new account was issued to the victim.  Currently there is no monetary loss to the victim. #I-2020-005420 – Closed C.

An individual reported to police that he received an email regarding a job posting for a pet sitter paying $400 per week.  The victim provided the suspect with personal information and is now  concerned this information may be used in creating fraudulent accounts and identity theft.  #I-2020-005710 – Closed C.

An individual reported to police  that he received an email regarding a job opportunity and was paid upfront prior to the work being completed. The victim received a check and deposited it into his account. After not hearing back from the suspect, the victim became suspicious and decided to report this incident to the police. #I-2020-005087 – Closed C.
