Graduate Achievement Award Spotlight: Tahj J. Burnette
Tahj J. Burnette is from New Brunswick, New Jersey where he is a 2014 alumnus of New Brunswick High School. He is currently pursuing an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and is expected to graduate in May 2019.
While at Middlesex County College, Tahj has been a Dean’s List recipient and a proud member of Phi Theta Kappa (Upsilon Gamma Chapter) Honors Society. Tahj was also the recipient of the annual EOF – Harry Payne Memorial Scholarship which is awarded to students for overcoming obstacles. He has received a Certificate of Leadership from the EOF program for contributions to the campus EOF Club.
In addition to Tahj’s academic success, he is currently the president of two student clubs on campus – the African Diaspora Alliance (ADA) Club and the Educational Opportunity Fund Club (EOF). After graduating from Middlesex County College, he plans to attend a 4-year institution to pursue a degree in Social Work and minor in Sports Management. Tahj has been accepted to Bowie State University and Rutgers University and awaits responses from others before making a decision.
