The Educational Opportunity Fund Professional Association of New Jersey (EOFPANJ) is a non-profit organization and the official liaison between the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) campus based programs and the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education in New Jersey. EOFPANJ is comprised of professional staff–including directors, administrators, educators, and counselors from about 56 undergraduate college and university programs throughout the state.

Alliance of Educational Opportunity Fund Students of New Jersey (A.E.S.N.J.) is a community of New Jersey college students enrolled in the The Office of the Secretary of Higher Education’s campus based Educational Opportunity Fund Programs. The mission of A.E.S.N.J. is the development of strategies and programs which strengthen the social, political, economic, intellectual, and spiritual welfare of EOF students operating under the guidance and direction of the New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund Professional Association (NJEOFPA). The Educational Opportunity Fund Statewide Alumni Association (EOFSAA) is made up of EOF alumni who have graduated from one of over fifty New Jersey colleges and universities. Their goals are to:

  • Keep EOF Alumni informed of what is happening across the state of New Jersey
  • Mobilize EOF Alumni to advocate on behalf of EOF Students
  • Provide networking opportunities for current EOF Alumni.

Rutgers School of Health Related Professions (Office of Student Affairs) EOF Program features the Biomedical Careers Program (BCP), an academic enrichment program for undergraduate students interested in careers in the health professions. The program targets undergraduates who are economically and/or educationally disadvantaged. BCP offers an intensive six-week summer program to serve students at all stages of undergraduate education. Students take part in a variety of science enrichment and healthcare-oriented activities. BCP is sponsored by Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and the New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF).

American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education, Inc. addresses issues and concerns affecting Hispanics, with a focus on higher education. AAHHE is committed to addressing societal issues as they pertain to the growing population; convening public discourse focused forums to develop public policy reflecting the changing demographics of our nation; and preparing more Hispanics to pursue a career in higher education as faculty, administrators, and policy makers.

EOF Mathematics Immersion Program (MIP), which is a summer enrichment program designed to help undergraduate students improve their mathematics skills, and broaden their knowledge of the use of math in their chosen fields. MIP is sponsored by the State of New Jersey, Commission on Higher Education, Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program and operated out of the office of the Stevens Technical Enrichment Program (STEP) at Stevens Institute of Technology..

Summer Pre-Medical Research and Education Program (Summer PREP) The RowanSOM Summer PREP invites under-represented and disadvantaged students from colleges and universities across New Jersey for a six-week residential internship designed to help prepare them for health careers training opportunities through exposure to biomedical research, clinical shadowing, MCAT instruction, medical school admissions processes, and seminars. The program is funded via the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education’s Educational Opportunity Fund (NJCHE-EOF).

New Jersey Medical School offers two programs that assists students who want to pursue a career in the Health Professions.

  • Northeast Regional Alliance (NERA) MedPrep Scholars Program is a partnership between New Jersey Medical School, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Center for Multicultural and Community Affairs, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Manhattan Staten Island Area Health Education Center.
  • Summer Medical and Dental Education Program (SMDEP) provides academic enrichment programs geared toward attracting students into the health sciences. The program will strengthen students’ skills by providing the science course work, critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills necessary to ensure that they are competitive for medical/dental school.

Training and Recruitment Initiative for Admission to Leading Law Schools (TRIALS) Trials is a unique partnership of NYU School of Law, Harvard Law School, and the Advantage Testing Foundation. It is a fully subsidized summer study program for students of modest means whose backgrounds are currently underrepresented at the nation’s top law schools.

Inroads The Mission of INROADS is to develop and place talented underserved youth in business and industry, and prepare them for corporate and community leadership. INROADS seeks high performing students for internship opportunities with some of the nation’s largest companies. It offers a rigorous career development training process.
