3 Students Honored for Posters on Journal Articles

When Professor Christine Harrington published her textbook, “Student Success in College: Doing What Works!,” she decided to take some of the royalties from it and establish a scholarship for students. She invited those taking Student Success 101 classes to create posters summarizing research findings from a peer-reviewed journal article. The winners were honored at a ceremony in December. They were: Carly Adams, who won the $1,000 first-place prize for her poster on managing stress; Erika Rosario won the $700 second-place award for a poster on marijuana use and its effect on academic performance; and Mario Perez, who took the $300 third-place prize for his poster on kids and video games.
