Dietetic Technology Program Awarded Accreditation

The Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) recently announced the accreditation of the College’s Dietetic Technology Program, which was awarded the highest level of accreditation. CADE accreditation is on a 10-year cycle, with a Program Assessment Report required at the midpoint. The Program, one of only 55 in the nation, is now accredited through 2013.

The Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education is the agency that accredits dietetics programs at all levels.

“This is very exciting news for us,” said Mary-Pat Maciolek, chair of the Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management Department and director of the Dietetic Technology Program. “It means we are a program that is meeting the needs of the community. Our ongoing monitoring of program outcomes and goal achievement means our graduates are competent professionals ready to work in the industry as DTRs or continue on as juniors at a four-year school.”
