Middle States Brief

As we approach the end of the spring semester and the pace changes for many, the Middle States Self-Study process also enters a new, though not slower, phase.

On Monday, April 19, there was an Open Forum to allow for comments on a number of Work Group reports. Though attendance was not high, there was a good exchange of ideas concerning ways to increase participation from the College community. You can expect to hear a lot from the Steering Committee in the fall.

As you’re seeing, the writing of the Self-Study is very much an iterative process and the research, analysis, and writing of the Work Group reports continues. Throughout the spring and summer, additional and updated Work Group reports will be posted at . Comments may then be sent to for consideration by the Steering Committee and Work Groups.

At the opening of the Fall Semester Convocation, there will be one or more breakout sessions so that as many people as possible have the opportunity to comment on the latest versions of the Work Group reports as well as the early draft of the Self-Study. Our Self-Study is the voice of the College and your voice should be heard.
