Middle States Brief

By Ron Goldfarb
Co-Chair, Middle States Self-Study Committee

As promised, a draft of the Middle States Self-Study has been posted on the infonet for your review. It is still very much a work in progress and will be updated (especially with data from the November snapshot of assessment activities), added to, and further edited. The posting will be updated approximately once a week until it is submitted to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in late December. It is hoped that the review by all members of the campus community will lead to additional suggestions that will enhance the report.

An Open Forum is scheduled for Monday, November 8 from 4-6 p.m. in College Center 100-101. Many members of the Steering Committee as well as Work Group chairs will be there to answer your questions and hear your suggestions. If you are not able to make it, you may send your comments to at any time.

After the Self-Study is sent to Middle States and the members of the site visitation team, we will begin preparing for that visit. It is likely that the team will want to meet with faculty, administrators, students, and staff in a number of venues. There will almost certainly be an exit interview to which the entire campus community will be invited. Be sure to mark your calendars for March 6-9, 2011.
