Student-Athletes Named to All-Academic Team
Ten Middlesex County College student-athletes were named to the National Junior College Athletic Conference All Academic Team. Those named to the second team have a grade point average between 3.80 and 3.99; those on the third team between 3.60 and 3.79. MCC did not have any first team members, whose GPA is 4.0.
“We’re very proud of our student-athletes who have excelled both in their sports and in the classroom,” said Carey Monkowski, assistant athletic director. “In addition, our softball team and the women’s track and field squad received honorable mentions for the entire team, as their combined GPAs were 3.0 or better.”
The individual athletes honored include: Aly Jouejati, men’s soccer, second team; Aniko Chapman, softball, second team; Carly Kjersgaard, softball, second team; Emma Amaya, women’s soccer, third team; Frances Hernandez, volleyball, third team; Joshua Guarnera, baseball, third team; Kali Snook, volleyball, second team; Lucia Cagnani, women’s soccer, second team; Melissa Ciaccio, women’s soccer, second team; and Michelle Gebhardt, softball, third team.
