Michelle Campbell has been named vice president for institutional advancement at MCC. She oversees Continuing Education, Marketing Communications, the MCC Foundation, Alumni Engagement, Grants Development, Institutional Research, and Advancement Services.
“Michelle is a visionary leader with a wide range of experience in fund raising, grants, marketing and team building,” said Mark McCormick, interim president of MCC. “Her skills in strategic planning, project management, relationship building and fund raising will be a significant benefit to the College, and ultimately, to the students we serve.”
Ms. Campbell comes to MCC from Renton Technical College (RTC) in Washington State, where she was executive director of institutional advancement after being promoted from the director of grants development. She has served in progressive leadership positions in education and the nonprofit sector, both nationally and internationally. Over her career, she has secured over $45 million in external grant funding.
“My work is driven by a desire and commitment to make a difference in the lives of students,” she said. “My approach to leadership is entrepreneurial and collaborative, and I look forward to working with the talented staff and faculty who make Middlesex County College the great institution it is.”
While at RTC, Ms. Campbell led the College’s five-year strategic plan; served as its accreditation liaison officer; increased external grant funding from $2 million to $6 million annually; and led Achieving the Dream and Guided Pathways, programs designed to increase student success.
Ms. Campbell holds a Bachelor of Arts from Minnesota State University, a Master’s Degree from the University of Waikato, and she anticipates receiving her Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University in 2019.
