FAQ’s

All Media Help Desk requests submitted through the media services department will be logged as a ticket in our help desk system.   The system will automatically send you a ticket ID number letting you know your request has been submitted. Once one of our media technician’s have diagnosed the issue you were experiencing they will email you letting you know the status of your request.   If you do not receive an email your request has not been successfully submitted.
All production requests through the media services department will be logged as a ticket in our help desk system.   The system will automatically send you a ticket ID number letting you know your request has been submitted. Once your production request has been approved you will receive a confirmation email letting you know.   If you do not receive an email approving your production it has not been booked.
All media equipment booked through the media services department will be logged as a ticket in our help desk system.   The system will automatically send you a ticket ID number letting you know your request has been submitted. Once your media equipment request has been booked you will receive a confirmation email letting you know.  If you do not receive an email your equipment has not been booked.

Yes. All video productions require advance planning to insure that we have available staff and equipment for your recording. Please book all productions 48hrs in advance.

Answer: The projector might have had a power surge.  Please fill out a support ticket online at: http://mediahelp.middlesexcc.edu/support/tickets/new or email us at: mediahelp@middlesexcc.edu so we can reset the projector.
Answer:  We discourage connecting a personal computer, as they they may not connect correctly to the classroom multimedia system, and any available adapters might not be available for your specific laptop.  Also, internet will be restricted to Campus WiFi for all outside computers.  If you have a file on your personal laptop that you need to use, please copy the file onto a USB flash drive, and then copy it to the classroom computer.
Answer: If you are in Crabiel Hall, make sure that the video selector switch on top of DVD/VHS deck is set to "DOC CAM", and VIDEO button is pressed on projector control panel on wall.  If you are in any other building on campus, try pressing the VIDEO button on the control panel on the wall.  You may need to press it multiple times.
Answer:  Press VIDEO button on projector control panel on wall.  Make sure it states "Video" or "Video 1" on corner input label on projector screen right after switching to correct input.  It is possible that it needs to be pressed more than once to cycle through other available video inputs, such as "Video 2 " or "HDMI".
