Student Responsibilities for Fall Semester 2021

We are excited and eager to see you on campus for the Fall semester! Middlesex College is committed to ensuring the health and safety of the entire campus community.

As per President McCormick’s announcement, in accordance with Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders and based on CDC guidance, we will require all employees, students and visitors to wear masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status.

All students on the Edison campus or at one of the centers must adhere to the following:

  • Masks are required indoors for all persons (vaccinated and unvaccinated). An emergency supply of masks will be made available from campus offices if for some reason you do not have one or a mask becomes defective.

If you are unable to wear a mask, contact Health & Safety for assistance.

Daily Health Assessment

  • All students meeting for in-person classes on the Edison campus or at one of the centers must complete our Daily Health Assessment before entering College grounds and must show proof they are approved before entering class.

We encourage students to download our Middlesex College Mobile App (Android / Apple) to complete the daily assessment. Once you have downloaded the mobile app, you will navigate to Daily Student Health Assessment and answer all the questions and be prepared to show your phone with a green check mark to your professor as you enter class. If you have a red check mark, please stay home and email Here is a video that will guide you through the process.

If you don’t have a phone, take the Daily Health Assessment on our website, and print out the check mark to show your professor. Computers are available in the Library.

  • Any individual experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 must NOT come to campus.
Students experiencing symptoms must email and someone from the College Health and Safety Office will be in touch to explain steps for your return to campus.

  • Vaccination is strongly recommended but not required with the exception of students and faculty in the Nursing and Allied Health programs (in order to comply with the vaccine mandate adopted by the clinical sites). Students can make an appointment for the COVID-19 Vaccine through the Middlesex County Website.

All students are expected to fully comply with all applicable state requirements as well as Middlesex College policies, protocols, and guidance related to COVID-19. Failure to do so presents unnecessary risk to the College community and may result in disciplinary action through the Code of Student Conduct process, and referral to the Office of Student Life. Should you have questions about the conduct process, please reference the Code of Student Conduct.

These guidelines and decisions will be revisited periodically throughout the semester. Please refer to the Middlesex College Coronavirus website for our student Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) and a full listing of updated COVID-19 precautions, protocols, and contact information.

We look forward to seeing everyone on campus soon and ensuring a healthy and safe return for our campus community.

Thank you,

José Laureano
