Graduation Application Information

Degrees and Certificates are awarded three times a year: in August, January, and May. Students are required to submit a Graduation Application for each program for which they expect to graduate. The application fee is $40 for each degree/certificate.

The deadlines for filing are:

  • April 1 for May Graduation
  • July 1 for August Graduation
  • December 1 for January Graduation

How To Submit a Graduation Application Online (Log-in ID and password required)

  1. Log into your CampusCruiser Cruiser Account using your CampusCruiser Log-In ID and Password
  2. Click on the Web Advisor Tab
  3. Under the “Enrollment Services” Menu (located on the left side of page), select “Graduation Application”
  4. Complete all required information on the Application and payment information (MasterCard, Visa, Discover) for the $40 fee per degree/certificate
  5. Submit your request

You must complete an academic major program to the satisfaction of the department administering the major. Students who do not meet all degree or certificate requirements for the graduation date stated on their application, must notify the Registration Office, either by email or in person in order to be considered for graduation at a later date. You will not be charged an additional application fee.

Diploma Pick-up

Beginning Monday, March 13th… January 2017 Graduates may pick-up diplomas at the Enrollment Services Center located on the 1st Floor of West Hall during the following hours:

  • Monday & Thursday8:30am – 6:30pm
  • Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday8:30am – 4:30pm

Please bring a photo ID as it’s required when picking up a diploma.


Steps to Graduation & the May 2017 Commencement Ceremony

Tuesday, May 23, 2017 • 10:30 a.m.
Expo Center in Raritan Center • 97 Sunfield Ave., Edison

1. Apply for Graduation and Attend the Graduation Fair

Apply for Graduation by April 3. Students should plan to attend the Grad Fair on Thursday, March 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the College Center Cafeteria C. College representatives will be there to confirm graduation eligibility, and make sure you have all the information you need about Commencement.

2. Get Measured for Your Cap & Gown

Cap and Gown measurements will be handled online. Click here for details. Students graduating with honors may exchange their black tassel for a gold honors tassel, or purchase a gold tassel for $6.

3. Pick Up Your Cap & Gown

Academic Attire is required to participate in Commencement. Please pick up your cap and gown, any honors tassel, stole or cord you have earned by 3 p.m. on Friday, May 19 at the Bookstore.

4. Attend the Commencement Ceremony at the Expo Center in Raritan Center

Location: Commencement will be held at the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center, which is on Sunfield Ave., right off Raritan Center Parkway. Bus lines 813 and 814 stop nearby the center. Tickets are not required.

Parking: There is sufficient parking at the Center. Plan to arrive early to allow time to get from the parking lot to the building entrance. Handicapped drop-off is permitted, but cars must be moved to a parking lot. There will be a shuttle service from the distant parts of the lot.

Processional: Arrive early. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Expo Center. Walk through the main lobby and turn right. Signs will direct you to the appropriate location. Check in no later than 10 a.m. to pick up your name announcement card. Please be in line by 10:15 a.m. as the processional begins promptly at 10:30 a.m.

Pictures: Your photograph will be taken by professional photographers as you cross the stage and again as you exit the stage. Purchase of these photos is optional. To see the proofs of the photos, complete the information on the reverse side of your name announcement card. It is important to keep moving while on stage. Do not stop to wave, wait for others or take selfies as it slows the line and will disrupt the photographer who is trying to get photos of you and the person behind you.

Following the Processional: Class rings and diploma frames may be purchased. You may keep the cap, gown and tassel.

5. Diploma Pick-Up

Diplomas will be available in Enrollment Services in West Hall beginning Monday, June 5. Photo ID is required to pick up your diploma. The office hours are Monday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students who filed the Application for Graduation after April 3 will be notified by postcard when their diploma will be available for pick-up.
